- Shape cards are non-ISO 7810 Form factor standard cards, and are contactless IC cards to provide sensing-function transactions. These cards have varied appearances, hence each must be customary molded and cut to the designated shapes. Some products even require dripping double-sided polyresin for base layer protection, making them into key chains would also allow easy carrying and ease-of-use.
- Due to the complex process in production, the cost for a shape card is ten times of a standard card, hence is usually reserved limited cards distributed on special occasions, becoming collector items.
- In Taiwan, shape cards are widely used mostly by EasyCard Corporation/ICash /iPASS/Happy Cash smart ticketing industries. For banking issuers, shape cards include VISA Mini, MasterCard MC2 and etc.
